Hi, I’m Allison!

I am a Florida Native. I was born and raised in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I moved to the Bahamas for 6 years for work and just recently moved back to Florida to be closer to family. I live in Jacksonville, Florida but I work a Hybrid job which allows me to be in the Orlando area on most weekends to be a part of this wonderful community! I joined OSN October of 2024 and was greeted with friendly faces and open arms. Every event I have been to since then has been the same. My goal is to make sure no one feels left out and everyone feels just as welcomed as I did at my first event. I love exploring new cities. I like going to museums, zoos, and aquariums. I also love being outdoors and one with nature. I am hoping to incorporate these things when trying to plan events for OSN. I look forward to making long lasting memories with all of you!

Q&A with Allison!

1. If you were a Disney character, who would you be and why?
I would be Ariel because when I lived in the Bahamas, I was out on the water any free time I had from work either boating, paddleboarding, swimming, or snorkeling. Seeing all the fish and sea life while snorkeling always makes me feel like a mermaid. I might not have been the most graceful like Ariel, but I was having fun!

2. If you could plan the ultimate OSN event with an unlimited budget, what would it be?
I would love to have a weekend OSN getaway to get away from the Florida heat. I think renting out a big cabin somewhere in the mountains like Tennessee would be awesome. We could go hiking, raft down the river, sightseeing, and even spend a day at Dollywood! At night we can either have game night or sit by the fire, roast marshmallows, and tell stories! That would be my ultimate OSN event with no budget.

3. What's the funniest or most memorable moment you've had at an OSN event?
By far the most memorable OSN event which also had the funniest OSN moment would have to be the St. Augustine Christmas light event. We went on a day walking tour and had lunch. Had someone mistakenly drive to St Pete but still wanted to hang out with us so drove all the way to St Augustine and made it in time to have lunch with everyone! (I will still applaud them to this day for making that drive!) Then we did a night walking tour to see the Christmas lights with Mr. Paul Revere. Willy Wonka joined our group at some point of that tour. I do not think I will ever forget that event even if I tried!

4. What's your favorite local Orlando spot that you think more people should know about?
Since they opened a location in Maitland almost a year ago now, I can say Wave Sushi is my favorite Orlando spot more people should know about. Now I have not been to the Maitland location yet, I have been to the Mount Dora location and if you love Sushi this is a wonderful place to try. They are known for their Sushi Burgers, Donuts, Burritos, Crunch Wraps, Tacos and Hotdogs. They do have regular sushi rolls and other options if you do not want to be too adventurous. Some of these options are best shared with friends.

5. What's a hidden talent or unexpected hobby that most OSN members don't know about you?
Something a lot of people do not know about me is that I love to sing. I was in my school choir from Elementary School up until I graduated High School. Believe it or not I have never gone to a karaoke night. Even though I sang in a choir I am too shy to sing in front of people alone. That is why most people do not know that I can sing. It is my best kept secret.
